Jailbreak iOS6 GM With Redsn0w 0.9.13dev4

If you're a developer, or you just happen to have your hands on the iOS6 GM released during yesterday's iPhone event, you'll be glad to know that the iPhoneDev team has already cracked their way into the system with a tethered RedSn0w  jailbreak for the iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, and 4G iPod Touch.

It's true that as hackers, sometimes we are just never completely satisfied with any new features we get. No matter what Apple seems to add in their updated firmwares, we can't help but think about how terrible life would be if we didn't have our favorite homebrew games, tweaks and apps. Well fear no more you jailbreak fans with older Apple devices, the team over at iPhoneDev has your solution with the long running RedSn0w jailbreak software.

Because this particular hack only works on A4 powered devices, for the moment support is limited to the iPhone 4, 3GS and Touch 4G. Also, for those who don't know the fact that it is tethered means that you are going to have to use RedSn0w every time you're looking to boot your device if you want to enjoy the homebrew goodness. Still, if you can look past some of these apparent limitations, and don't mind having to SSH all of your apps because Cydia does not work on this system quite yet, then you should check out this jailbreak. This is an early release with a lot of different caveats to its name, so let's leave this one to the most advanced jailbreakers. Regardless, we can officially add iOS 6 to the pwned list despite the fact that it hasn't even been released yet.
