Jailbreak Alternatives You Don't Want To Miss.

Aside from the most obvious one, Absinthe, there are a couple more jailbreak tools that were also released today. Some by the Chronic Dev Team and others by the Official iPhone Dev-Team. Lets take a look.....

A quick note: To all those waiting for the redsn0w version of the jailbreak, it has been updated but for some unknown reason they cannot release it. Musclenerd tweeted this earlier today.

First up is a tool by the iPhone Dev-Team. They have created the command line interface tool or CLI. This is more for the advanced users, than the beginners. It does exactly the same as Absinthe 2.0.1 but is completely command line based. There was a similar command line release soon after Absinthe for IOS 5.0.1 was released. You can download from HERE.

Secondly we have Rocky Racoon which converts your already tethered IOS 5.1.1 jailbreak into an untethered Jailbreak. This can be downloaded and installed directly through Cydia. Musclenerd and pod2g recommend this rather than restoring your device and using Absinthe or CLI (for quickness). They also say NOT to 'reset all settings' that is recommended when jailbreaking with Absinthe. (Search for Rocky Racoon 5.1.1 untethered in Cydia)

Last but not least is the Seas0nPass jailbreak for the Apple TV 2 (Apple TV 3 not yet supported but the devs are working extremely hard on it). You can download from their website AND they have a tutorial for you. Here is a list of the supported plugins:
