The United States' newest iPhone carrier, Sprint, has been running advertisements highlighting its "truly unlimited" network, however, the carrier is throttling smartphone customers who use excessive amounts of data, according to Dow Jones Newswires.
At an investor conference Thursday, Sprint Chief executive officer Dan Hesse writes that for those who want to abuse it (Sprint's network) they can knock them off. Hesse said Sprint pares back data use for about 1% of users, also known as throttling, however, throttling only applies to customers who use excessive data while roaming on partnered networks.
In a recent television advertisement, Sprint states "You'd be shocked how much data you use in a month, What happens if you go over? With Sprint, you don't have to worry; only Sprint offers truly unlimited data."
Hesse did say there were no plans for Sprint to move to tiered data plans like Verizon and AT&T have switched to in recent years, however it appears that there is no longer any US carrier that offers "truly unlimited" data plans for the iPhone.

how about you update this??? at Sprint we ONLY THROTTLE when the use of excessive roaming occurs... this is in the Terms and Conditons the company reads during the sale or has you read on paper in stores/website... This is the FAIR USE POLICY that every company has in their T&C's...

Well it is fair use. And it mentions only when you are roaming on partner networks. It does not apply to their own network, according to this article.

I agree. You are right.

What? It is just fair use. And this applies only to when you are roaming on partner networks. Not their very own. Stop making a big deal about this.
