Apple Files New Lawsuits Against Samsung in Germany

Apple's patent war with Samsung continues. Apple filed two new lawsuits in Germany's Dusseldorf Regional Court., seeking to ban 10 Samsung smartphones and 5 tablets. The first lawsuit targets ten different smartphone models, including Samsung's Galaxy S Plus and the S II, and is based on Apple's design rights. The second sets focus on five of Samsung's tablet models. Neither lawsuit was filed under "emergency proceedings," which means Apple can devise a new plan of attack against Samsung's devices. Samsung recently started selling a modified version of one of their tablets, the Galaxy Tab 10.1N, in an effort to bypass Apple's injunction against the original Tab 10.1, and the German courts seem to think that it's different enough to be safe. Fortunately for Samsung, Apple is not doing well at the moment in this patent war. Apple's attempts to ban the Galaxy Tab in both the US and Australia have failed. Samsung managed to push back against Apple last month by bringing four new patents into the picture in the Mannheim Regional Court. It's not clear how these new lawsuits are different from previous ones but looks like the patent war is still raging on.
