With more and more data being stored on our smartphone these days, security is certainly a paramount concern. With everything from our personal information to even payment methods, there are a lot of valuable assets that can be taken from somebody's smartphone. As of right now, the iPhone 5 has a password protection feature which can be operated by a number or gesture pattern. Guess wrong too many times and your phone can be wiped of all data for your protection. It's a pretty solid feature right? AppleInsider however, claims that these measures might get even more complex.
Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities certainly thinks change could be coming. Apple recently purchased a company called AuthenTec technologies which specializes in security measures for various pieces of hardware. Specifically it is their advanced fingerprint scanners that have garnered the most attention. This has lead Kuo to speculate that the iPhone 5S could include one of such devices buried deeply within the setup. Where would it be found? Supposedly under the home button where all the action happens. To me it certainly sounds like a smart idea, but the chances of it happening seem a little remote. Would you use something like this on your iPhone?
