A Chinese manufacturer (what else is new?) has produced the very first working clone of Apple's lightning cable. As it was discovered when the cables first surfaced is that there is an authentication chip embedded in the cable, which rendered the cable useless. That isn't a problem for these guys as they've managed to not only clone the chip perfectly but add some extra goodies to make it more than a clone. The lightning cable itself works to connect, sync and charge your iPhone 5 or 5th generation iPod Touch to your computer and lights up to indicate charging or data transfer. That's only the start of it.
The cable also comes with a dock for your iDevice, screen guards and a hard shell tailored for the iPhone 5. Before I name the price, you have to check out the videos of the cable in action:
All of this will run you $59.90. With Apple's lightning cables shipping tomorrow, would you be picking up one of these instead?
