iOS 6 is Apple's very latest attempt at creating a usable mobile operating system. However, some of us may not want to make the jump, which makes it all the more frustrating when we see our friends messing around with the new version. With this tweak, you can at very least give your iOS 5 device the new tinted status bar it deserves.

Apple has announced a lot of features for iOS 6, that is expected to be released in the Fall. Unfortunately, not every feature is making it to every iOS device. If you think that the new Flyover and turn by turn running features were hot but you just so happened to have an iPhone without Siri instead of with her, you may not have to regret that after all.

T-Mobile.nl has posted some technical specs about the iPhone 3G S revealing that the newest iPhone carries a 600 MHz processor and 256MB of RAM. A nice bump in processor power from the iPhone 3G.
The iPhone 3G had a 412mhz processor while the iPod Touch had a 532mhz processor, until now, the 2nd generation iPod Touch was the fastest device by a good margin on the lineup but the iPhone 3G S has changed that. The previous generation models have 128MB of ram while the iPhone 3G S has a whopping 256MB of ram, so, the new device offers twice as much of RAM. The processor/ram information seems to confirm many details that were first revealed in a Chinese forum post.
The new iPhone is also believed to use the new PowerVR SGX graphics processing unit which provides support for OpenGL ES 2.0. This notably improved performance may require developers to support these multiple device capabilities within their apps.
For those interested in more of a technical analysis, Anandtech offers a detailed breakdown of the new iPhone's processor and GPU, according to their sources.
Although unannounced, the iPhone 3GS uses (again) a Samsung SoC but this time instead of the ARM11 + MBX-Lite combo it's got a Cortex A8 and PowerVR SGX; just like the Pre.

Apple announced the iPhone 3G S on Monday at their Worldwide Developers Conference event with a case that is identical to the current shipping iPhone 3G model. Before the iPhone 3G S was released, there were rumored leaked photos of what could've been the iPhone 3G S case (photo below)
The above image is the rumored iPhone 3G S case, however, the case does appear to have been real iPhone 3G S cases.
The leaked matte case design was clearly marked with a new model number A1303 and FCC ID BCGA1303A. Based on the official records released yesterday, this FCC ID does correlate to the new iPhone 3G S
The FCC ID numbers are random numbers and do not follow any obvious progression so it seems very unlikely that someone got a lucky guess. No one knows for sure if the matte case design was changed to the iPhone 3G case at the last minute but the original leaked case was clearly produced by Apple.
