iOS 6 is Apple's very latest attempt at creating a usable mobile operating system. However, some of us may not want to make the jump, which makes it all the more frustrating when we see our friends messing around with the new version. With this tweak, you can at very least give your iOS 5 device the new tinted status bar it deserves.

If you can't create a ringtone on your computer for whatever reason, mp3m4r.com has you covered. It allows you to quickly and very easily create a ringtone for your iPhone in 3 simple steps.
  1. Enter your E-mail address. -- You need this because the ringtone will be created and you'll be notified via email once it's completed.
  2. Upload an mp3 file of the song you want created as a ringtone.
  3. Finally, select the part of the mp3 you want as a ringtone, Sadly, this doesn't allow you to listen to the part of the mp3 you choose. So you'll have to figure out the times before hand.
After you got all that figured out, you click "Create My Ringtone" and mp3m4r.com will create it and email you a download link. All you have to do before that, is download it, add it to iTunes, and sync it with your iPhone. Easy as pie.

TinyUmbrella version 4.1.2 has been released to allow you to back up SHSH Blobs for the latest iOS version, 4.1 -- This new version includes iOS 4.1 support, baseband protection for iPhone 4, among other features and fixes.
Change log:
  • Fixed a naming issue for 4.1 shsh
  • 4.1 iOS support
  • Baseband Protection for iPhone 4

Baseband protection, prevents the baseband from updating on your iPhone 4 when updating to iOS 4.1 -- From The Firmware Umbrella:
I put my money where my mouth is. I tested my code on my own iPhone 4 and was able to update to 4.1 without touching my baseband. The only doctoring I did was removing my private info. The newest version of TinyUmbrella will have an added side-benefit of allowing you to update to 4.1 without the fear of baseband update. Of course, in order to downgrade back to 4.0.x you need to have your SHSH saved on Cydia or locally. Have fun :)

Wow, a day after the iPhone Dev Team released their updated Redsn0w software, Apple releases an update to iPhone OS. This isn't a significant update to the iPhone OS. It doesn't introduce new and exciting features to the current hardware but it does fix a number of issues and bugs.
Apple iPhone OS 3.1.3 Update

This update fixes and improves the following:
  • Improves accuracy of reported battery level on iPhone 3GS
  • Resolves issue where third-party apps would not launch in some instances
  • Fixes bug that may cause an app to crash when using the Japanese Kana keyboard

This update is for all current hardware, iPhone 1G (EDGE), iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS and all iPod Touch devices. You can easily get the update via iTunes by connecting your device and clicking "Check for Update"
*Note* It's been confirmed by the iPhone Dev Team that Redsn0w 0.9.2 works with this new iPhone OS update only with iPhone 1G (EDGE) and iPhone 3G and *ONLY* if you don't care about unlocking. Just point Redsn0w 0.9.2 to the iPhone OS 3.1.2 firmware IPSW -- The iPhone Dev Team urges iPhone 3GS and iPod Touch users who wish to jailbreak to stay away from this update until further notice!

It's about time! AT&T has announced in a press release that MMS (Multimedia Messaging Service) will be finally coming to the iPhone on September 25 2009 for iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS customers, on the AT&T Network of course. Sadly, no iPhone 2G (First Generation) MMS support due to hardware limitations.
We know many of our iPhone customers are eager for an update on our rollout schedule for Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS). Weve been working for the past several months to prepare our systems and network to ensure the best possible experience with MMS when it launches – and that launch date is: September 25 for iPhone 3G and 3GS customers. MMS will be enabled through a software update on that day.

Many iPhone customers on the AT&T network have been waiting for AT&T for the past four months since Apple announced it back in June 09. The MMS service will not be an extra paid service, it will be free to existing iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS customers with text messaging. So, in other words, everyone with an iPhone on AT&T (except iPhone 2G owners) will have MMS for free.
