Untethered iPad 3 jailbreak already?

A little late with this news but still wildly exciting none the less.    With the official announcement of the iPad 3 and ios 5.1 just over 1 week ago, it comes as no surprise that renound hackers and teams set about finding exploits in the new ios. And as the news travels it seems that these exploits came by the handfull.

   According to the iphone dev-team

"There are a few bits of good news already.

• We can confirm that the method used to jailbreak the iPad 2 4 months ago (before corona) still works even in 5.1.  That means well at least be able to get our foot in the door to get the required kernel dumps on the iPad3.  Thats an important step, but by no means is it the end of the story.
• Those of you following @i0n1c may have noticed hes already tweeted pictures of his iPad2 jailbroken at 5.1.  As far as we know, hes using a method completely unrelated to the one mentioned above.  That would be great news!
• Weve also seen bits and pieces of an entirely different jailbreak method being investigated by someone close to the Cydia repo scene"

So that's not just 1 but 3 possible untethered jailbreaks, on the day of launch, which is even more spectacular. The first method was tweeted by musclenerd, the second came from well known iphone security expert and german iphone hacker Steffan Esser (i0n1c) and the third came from well known cydia developers Grant Paul and Paul Griffin.

Musclenerd also tweeted that his jailbreak is in very early stages and needs a lot of hard work and time before it's ready for release. So far there has been no additional news regarding the work of grant paul / Paul Griffin......i0n1c on the other hand, has released a short video proving his untethered iPad 3 jailbreak in action.

Lets hope that not all the untethered exploits are used and that they may come in handy in future minor updates. As usual there are no ETS's for ANY of these jailbreaks. Updates will follow on here as they are announced.
