When iOS 6.1 makes it to the front page of several on more than one occasion over the course of a week, you know there's something wrong. The infamous firmware is making headlines again as it appears that users have found a workaround for the lockscreen for all devices. There's nothing fancy involved and no connecting of devices to computers. All it takes is a couple of button presses and some input entered on the lockscreen. After replicating the bug, you're granted full unlimited access to the iPhone, until you lock it again. By the time that happens, the purpose of having a lock on the device is invalidated.
Apple has already acknowledged this bug and is working to get a fix out for all affected devices. There hasn't been any reports of the bug being replicated in iOS 6.1.1, which was released for the iPhone 4S, to address another issue. Let's see if Apple can get it right, for what could be a third time around. Let's hope that there's a good deal of damage control, for users who will be on 6.1 after the fixed firmware is released. You can check out the video to see how to perform the bug for yourself below.
