Apple Seeds iOS 5.0.1 Beta 2 to Developers

Just two days after seeding the first beta of iOS 5.0.1 to developers, Apple has already pushed out a second version for testing. This version build number is 9A404. iOS 5.0.1 Beta 1 included a number of bug fixes and improvements. Aside from bug fixes, this update adds Multitasking Gestures for original iPad 1. The update fixed bugs related to affected battery life. As well as fixed bugs with Documents in the Cloud. In addition, it improves voice recognition for Australian users using dictation. Here's a list of the changes on iOS 5.0.1 Beta 1:
  • Fixes bugs affecting battery life
  • Adds Multitasking Gestures for original iPad
  • Resolves bugs with Documents in the Cloud
  • Improves voice recognition for Australian users using dictation
  • Contains security improvements
Apple is working fast to release a fix for battery life issues as well as brining additional enhancements to iOS 5. If you can't wait for the update, and you have battery issues, the bug is believed to be a Location Service bug with "Setting Time Zone" -- You can turn off the preference (Settings>Location Services>System Services) to see if it improves your battery life. If you travel between different time zones, you may want to leave it on.
