Apple has released iOS 6.1.1 for iPhone 4S users. This isn't the final product of the beta firmware that was seeded to developers just last week. Instead, this is a firmware to fix the cellular and reliability issues that users were experiencing. As noted in our article yesterday, Vodafone advised against updating to iOS 6.1 as 3G performance issues were experienced. To add more fire to the flame, AOL disabled their meeting management feature on iPhones after uncovering a bug that prevented the proper function of that. Apple has taken care of all of that with this firmware.
There are two questions that are left to be answered. First off, what is going to become of the former 6.1.1 beta? That will be renamed when the next beta version is seeded to developers. The other question is it jailbreakable. The answer to that is yes. You can grab the update over the air, via iTunes or below.
