Sony PS3 firmware update 3.15.
- Settings
- You can now transfer the data that is saved on one PS3™ system\'s hard disk to another PS3™ systems hard disk using an Ethernet cable.
- PlayStation Network
- Some games under the minis category of PlayStation®Store will soon be able to be played on the PS3™ system. If you have already downloaded games from the minis\" category of PlayStation®Store to a PSP® system, you will be able to download and play the games on a PS3™ system using the download list in PlayStation®Store.*
*Some games from the minis category may not be playable on a PS3™ system.

To tell you the truth I didn't really like Dragon Age Origins, but I put a shit load of my time into it... The game felt so linear in it's options of what to do next like I was just reading a choose your own adventure novel, no open world feel. You're always being pushed along to the next thing THEY want you to do and you HAVE to talk to soooo many fucking people... blah blah blah blah...

Update: All right... So where's Facebook at? I don't see anything in 3.10 for setting that up... Anyone? What I do see: you can change the colour of your profile box.

I vaguely remember (so maybe I'm wrong) some PSP SFO editor or unpacker or something... Something that essentially paved the way for complete PSP hackage... Anyway, this isn't the PSP obviously or else it'd be hacked by now... This is Hellcat, RichDevX, and SilverSpring's PlayStation 3 System File Editor.

This just in... PS3 Firmware 3.01 has been released.

...PS3 system software update 3.01 is now available for download. This is an optional update that improves system stability during use of some PlayStation 3 format software.

As for gaming Uncharted Drake's Fortune appears to be working again, as it stopped working properly after firmware 3.00.

Update: Woot woot... Just got word from Dashhacker... You will notice a new option for Mobile Phones under Settings -> Remote Play Settings -> Register Device. With that said, Dashhacker has ORP working again. Those changes are being committed to SVN right now. If you feel inclined to compile from source, go nuts. Otherwise wait for an official release, which will happen sooner rather than later.
Update: Oooh... New start-up screen.

Sony! C'mon... For real?!
So if you're able to quit and exit out of Fight Night Round 4 for a moment or two, you'll see Sony has released PS3 Firmware Update 2.80. And despite what Mr. Lempel says -- The playback quality of some PLAYSTATION 3 format software has been improved.
Sony has also put a damper on Open Remote Play. Those tricky bastards have seemingly "poisoned" the video stream... If you start the ORP client and establish a Remote Play connection, you'll notice the video quickly becomes garbled nonsense and eventually the client bails.

Now better than ever -- Dashhacker's Open Remote Play v1.2 BETA. All you Windows users, you're going to dig this one... Most notably ORP v1.2 introduces support for the SIXAXIS/DS3 controller, the required driver is included for Windows, and on the Mac, it just works. Also added is mouse support and a much-improved full-screen mode. Check the change log for the rest...

Alright, now, this is awesome. We know most of our readers are most likely 100% Blu-ray loyal and probably didn't even know HD DVD existed, but if you happen to own some HD DVDs because you were an early adopter or whatever, you may be happy to know that someone out there is willing to take your crappy HD DVD disc off your hands and upgrade you to a much nicer and superior Blu-Ray disc for a low fee of $4.95USD.

Gamasutra reports an interesting new job listing at Netflix seeking an "Engineering Leader -- Gaming Platforms." The applicant is expected to have experience developing and testing media rich applications, and should be prepared to "rapidly prototype and iterate on a variety of platforms."
What do you guys think? Is Netflix entering the video game streaming world or is Netflix movie streaming coming to other consoles, such as the PS3? Considering the relative success and partnership with the Xbox 360, it would not be surprising if the company expands its service to other customers.
